For the second time I worked DU1GM George from the Philippines. But now my power output was 10 watt. Received report was -12 db and yesterday with 35 watt my report was -14 db. With JT65A you get a nice, reliable report, because the software shows the signal strength. While with PSK everyone get a 599 report. hardly accurate. It's in the macro, so...I also worked RWØAA Yuri from Nazarovo, Russia (5200 km) and UT4QU Eugene from the Ukraine.
It's true, but then in PSK you get to exchange actual information with the other station whilst with JT65A although it's technically a contact it doesn't feel like one.

Hello Julian, well, I doubt it. Most of the information is standard in the macro. A few use the keyboard to exchange information. I do a lot with JT65A and for me it feels like a real qso. Though, the exchange of information is short, I agree. But there is a possibility to exchange name or power, whatever. You have to react on a CQ call, it's not automatically. Then you'll have to wait if the other have heard me. Then as any other qso in any other mode you give (basic) information. 73 Paul

Paul, DU met 10W. Kijk dat is nou waar JT65 voor gemaakt is. Wat betreft de HyEndFed, tja ik heb de website even bekeken maar vind zo en stukje draad met een aanpassing netwerk nog steeds aan de dure kant. Eens kijken wat een 3 band versie gaat kosten, dat lijkt me nog wel ergens interessant. Maar daar zijn ze nog mee bezig. Ik denk eerlijk gezegd dat zo een monoband 20m draad ook makkelijk zelf te maken is. Als ik tijd heb wil ik 1 deze dagen eens aan het knutselen misschien. Ik ben benieuwd naar de volgende resultaten....73, Bas

ReplyDeletedit is natuurlijk een typisch Nederlands trekje: we vinden snel iets te duur en het moet goedkoper. ;-)
Zelf bouwen kan, als je de spullen in huis hebt en je bent handig dan moet je dat vooral doen. Vroeger heb ik van alles gebouwd, maar nadat ik 25 jaar geleden alles verkocht en weg gedaan heb, is de lust om zelf te bouwen verdwenen. Bovendien zijn mijn ogen niet meer wat het vroeger was, en dat gepriegel met het steeds kleiner wordende spul begin ik er niet meer aan. Deze antenne ziet er netjes uit, en die jongens mogen er ook iets aan verdienen, zo werkt dat toch? Volgend jaar laat ik mijn huis schilderen, dat ga ik ook niet meer zelf doen. Hi

Hello, Paul. I worked a George, DU1GM, too, with only 5 watts of my FT817 and a long wire about 13 mtrs long with unun 9:1 in balcony type configuration. I recevied a report of -15 db. You can see a screen capture of QSO in my blog

With this QSO I´ve WAC in JT65 mode, and about 50 DXCC in this mode. JT65 is a fantastic mode for qrp.
